Even though most people see rice liberalisation under the Asean Free-Trade Agreement (Afta) as a threat to Thailand’s rice sector, Pramote Vanichanont, president of the Thai Rice Millers Association, pointed how Thai farmers can use this as an opportunity to brighten their future.
